MOTIVATION
Edge of the World was made for a 72-hour art pack game jam at S&T. My goal with this project was to test my time management and efficiency, and to get experience working solely with the art provided to me. By carefully managing the scope of my game I could ensure a steady development pace that would result in a polished and fun game.
GAME CONCEPT
As defender of the space colony Tortuga located on a discus-planet, the player must control a pirate ship and protect the colony and themselves from a space invasion. The player proceeds to the next level by destroying all enemy ships and blocking/destroying the inbound torpedoes. The deployment, patrol patterns, and attack patterns made for the spaceships were the most complex enemies I had made thus far.

TAKEAWAYS
Completing this project proved to me that with careful planning and scoping, you can get a lot of work done in a short amount of time. This game gave me confidence that I can work quickly and effectively under tight time constraints. I took the lessons I learned from making the enemy scripts in this game to improve my scripting in future projects in terms of complexity and ease of adjustment.
